Parikkala heated with Pellets by Stora Enso

Stora Enso has signed a three year pellet delivery contract with Parikkala municipality in Finland. Pellets are delivered to a new heating plant built in Parikkala. With adding this plant, the municipality becomes almost fully heated by using renewable energy sources. From this achievement, Parikkala has received Finnish Environment Institute’s Award ‘Hinku’.

Stora Enso's Wood Products division produces wooden pellets for energy usage in seven units located in Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Estonia, and Russia. The Finnish unit located in Kitee produces pellets from sawing by-products: chips and shaving.
